CLEVELAND- Despite a small rain delay, the Delta State University Statesmen were able to split the final two games with Florida Southern College, taking the first game in extra innings 4-3 before being shut out in game two 6-0 at Ferriss Field Saturday afternoon.
The Statesmen drop to 6-7 on the season while the Moccasins improve to 10-4.

Florida Southern added another run in the sixth to retake the lead after Zach Maggard doubled to centerfield.
The Statesmen tied the ball game in the eighth after
Clay Sartain smacked a two-run homerun to left field, his second on the season.
Delta State, with runners on base and two outs, picked up the win after
Cade Hoggard grounded to the third basemen who threw the ball past the glove of Nick Stanley at first, allowing Sartian to score from third.
Levi Bishop (1-1) grabbed the win after pitching 1.1 innings without allowing a run or a hit.
Tillman earned the loss after giving up three runs on three hits in 2.2 relief innings.
Sartain finished the game batting 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI including the homerun.
In game two, the Statesmen struggled at the plate notching just three hits.
The Moccasins opened up an early 3-0 lead in the first inning followed by a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

Chase Blanchard had the only hits for the home team.
Cody Kelly earned his first loss on the season after pitching four innings and allowing five runs on eight hits with five strikeouts.
Eddie Sipple got the win for the visitors pitching a complete game while allowing three hits.
The Statesmen hit the road this Tuesday for a two-game series with Alabama-Huntsville in Huntsville, Ala. First pitch of the double-header is slated for 2 p.m.
