Delta State answered right back with four runs of their own, led by Bozeman's two-RBI double. Palasini and Oswald also provided RBIs for the green-and-white offense.
Leading 10-7, the Saint bullpen would lockdown the Statesmen the rest of the way, providing an opportunity to get back into the game.

Both teams recorded a scoreless eighth inning.
After the Statesmen went down in order in the ninth, the Saints made their move. With one out, Airich slapped a double off the right field wall off Statesmen reliever
Brandon Hall. Jordan Erisman followed with a walk.
