PENSACOLA, Fla.-The No. 18 University of West Florida Lady Aronauts scored early and often on Sunday, as they raced out to a 6-0 halftime lead, before defeating the Delta State University Lady Statesmen 8-0.
UWF (12-2-0, 5-0) jumped ahead in the 13th minute with the opening goal from Alexis Garrand.
Eight different players scored for the Lady Arogos in the contest, as they outshot the Lady Statesmen 32-3. UWF put 15 shots on goal, compared to only one for the Lady Statesmen (3-11-1, 0-5).
Sam Bossert and
Jessie Reeder recorded the shots for DSU. All three of which came in the second half.
Megan Galloway stopped three shots in the second half, and substitute
Faith Wright stopped four in the second.
The Lady Statesmen return home to Delta Field on Tuesday to take on Judson College.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
