CLEVELAND-The Delta State University Lady Statesmen soccer team only managed one shot on goal, as they dropped their first Gulf South Conference contest 2-0 to Ouachita Baptist University on Friday at Delta Field.

Beth Wendl scored her seventh goal of the season in the 30th minute for the Lady Tigers, who improved to 5-3, 1-1.

The Lady Statesmen (3-5, 0-1) were outshot 19-5 in the contest.

Mary Wisenhunt scored the second goal in the 66th minute with a towering free kick from long range.

The Lady Statesmen will look to rebound on Sunday, as they host Harding University in a Gulf South Conference match.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
