JACKSON, TENN.-For the second time in two days, the Delta State University Lady Statesmen soccer team lost by one goal.

DSU (0-2) fell 1-0 to host Union University in the second and final day of the Union University Classic.

Faith Wright recorded eight big saves for the Lady Statesmen, before letting in the winner in the 76th minute.

Rachael Boswell recorded the lone goal for the Lady Bulldogs

DSU was outshot 20-2 in the contest.

The Lady Statesmen will open their home season on Monday Sept. 6 at Delta Field, as they play host to Bethel College.

Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
