MEET NOTES
CLEVELAND, Miss. - Delta State Swimming and Diving returns home to the DSU Aquatics Center for the first time in 2014 and will play host to Ouachita Baptist on January 11 at 1 PM.
The Lady Statesmen currently are ranked No. 1 in the CollegeSwiming.com polls, with the Statesmen sitting at No. 7.
The Lady Statesmen are represented in several events nationally with the top time of the season; Â Women's 200-Backstroke -
Anastasia Klyarovskaya - 1:56.44, Women's 400-Individual Medley -
Melanie Tombers - 4:19.72, Women's 200-Meldey Relay - 1:44.04.
Delta State just concluded a training trip to Florida that included the first outdoor meet in several seasons by defeating Nova Southeastern (Lady Statesmen, 142 - 62; Statesmen, 107 - 98) as both teams picked up their third consecutive dual meet victory.
This weekend's meet will be the home rematch from DSU's trip to Arkadelphia, Ark., that saw Delta State pick up the road victory for both teams. The Statesmen took the 160-70 victory, while the Lady Statesmen won 151-60.
The last time the two schools met, the Statesmen took victory in 12 of the 13 events while the Lady Statesmen were victorious in 11 of 13 events. DSU will look to repeat the dominant performance, this time from the home pool.
