CLEVELAND, Miss. - Delta State University (10-6, 9-3 GSC) hits the road after a four game home stand (3-1), where the Statesmen swept Christian Brothers before dropping an extra innings affair to Southern Arkansas in 11 innings, 13-11. DSU and UU are meeting for the 36th time on the diamond with the Statesmen leading the all-time series standings 25-10. DSU has won five consecutive games in the series, with the last loss coming in the 2004 season.

The No. 20 Statesmen are coming off a Gulf South Conference series sweep over Christian Brothers last weekend at Ferriss Field. DSU outscored CBU 30-1 over the weekend. UU was swept by Henderson State on a March 12 doubleheader, 7-4 and 11-3.
Senior RHP's
Michael Manley and
Ricky Winters each earned victories in the home series against Christian Brothers. Manley (3-0) went eight innings while striking out five batters and scattered just five hits in a 8-1 DSU win in game one. Winters (4-0) kept the Blazers offense guessing, going the complete game and giving up five hits and striking out six batters as DSU won the series finale 10-0 in eight innings.
Dex Herrington, a senior outfielder from Senatobia, Miss., was named GSC Player of the Week for the second time this season, picking up the honor on February 24. Herrington can now add NCBWA South Region Player of the Week that was announced on March 12.

Carlos Leal has six walks and leads the team with 16 RBI.
