HOW IT HAPPENED- The Hawks grabbed a 1-0 lead when Jen Rogers corner kick curved into the goal in the 25th minute.
- Delta State held a 6-5 advantage in shots, putting three on goal in the first half.
- Rogers headed home a Katelyn Mullienix cross in the 65th minute gave Shorter a 2-0 lead.
- The Lady Statesmen finally got on the board on a Kailey Bryan goal, off an assist from Tabitha Hayden, to cut the deficit to 2-1 with just over 10 minutes left in the match.
- Delta State had two scoring chances in the final three minutes only to see Shorter goalkeeper Haley Lademann stop both shots by Bryan and Cotta from close range.
- Lady Statesmen goalkeeper Taylor Taffo made three saves.
- The Lady Statesmen held an 8-6 edge in shots on goal with both teams attempting 11 shots.
