VALDOSTA, Georgia – The University of Alabama in Huntsville (39-13) made a fifth inning run hold up to earn a 1-0 win over Delta State University (27-23) in an elimination game in the 2015 Gulf South Conference Tournament on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Delta State had runners in scoring position in the third and fourth innings. Taylor Holland and Amber Adcock singled with two outs but a fly out closed the threat.
- Alabama-Huntsville took a 1-0 lead in the fifth. Abby Roberts had a one-out double and moved to third on a ground out before scoring on a wild pitch.
- Emily Glover (9-6) earned the win for the Chargers, scattering six hits with a walk and a strikeout in seven innings pitched.
- Taylor Tucker (4-5) allowed one run on six hits with a walk and a strikeout as the pitcher of record for the Lady Statesmen.
- Holland went 2-for-3 to lead DSU at the plate. Adcock, Kassidy Tally, Jessie Rodriguez and Kaitlin Moore also collected hits.
STAT OF THE GAME- The two teams combined to go 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position. Delta State had four runners in scoring position going 1-for-4, while the Chargers went 1-for-10 with seven runners in scoring position.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE- Adcock's third inning single wrapped up her DSU career ranking second in the all-time hits list with 247 hits. Adcock also finished ranked first with 50 career doubles and second with 137 RBIs.
- The Lady Statesmen fell to 0-9 against NFCA nationally ranked opponents.
- Delta State fell to 6-7 in one-run games and were shutout for just the second time this season.
