CLEVELAND, Mississippi – Construction crews from Roy Collins Construction continued the demolition of the Dave "Boo" Ferriss Field grand stands by removing the roof over the home plate stands and digging out the in ground dugouts on Tuesday.
When the project is complete, Ferriss Field will feature all chair back seats, handicapped seating, new dugouts, new seating plan and an all brick structure. The enhancements have come, thanks in part, to a tremendous tradition of success on and off the field for Delta State University Baseball. The student-athletes who have worn the green-and-white have gone on to exemplify the true definition of what it means to be a Statesman.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the stadium is scheduled for October 3, 2015 as part of the annual Statesmen Baseball Reunion activities.
