CLEVELAND, Mississippi – The Delta State swimming and diving team opened the 2015 season at home against the University of Alabama on Sept. 11, 2015. The Crimson Tide claimed the meet with 219 points, while DSU finished with 42.
Melanie Tombers finished in third place in the 1000-Freestyle. Tombers finished the race in 10:31.63, less than five seconds behind second place winner Karolina Szczepaniak of Alabama. Tombers also picked up fourth in the 500-Freestyle.

How it happened:- In her first meet with the Lady Statesmen, freshman Celina Batsel also recorded a top finish. Batsel finished the 200-Freestyle in 56.44 to pick up a third place finish.
- Anastasia Klyarovskaya also had a third place finish, as she had a time of 57.74 in the 100-Backstroke.
- Chloe Bennett finished fourth in the 100-Freestyle.
A Look Ahead:The Lady Statesmen will host Rhodes College on Sept. 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the second meet of the season.
