CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State women's soccer team will seek its first Gulf South Conference win of the season when it hosts the University of West Georgia on Oct. 7, at 1:00 p.m. and Valdosta State University on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Delta Field. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, Friday's game against West Georgia will be the Lady Statesmen's pink-out game in support of breast cancer awareness, and the first 75 fans will get a free pink-out T-shirt.

INSIDE THE SERIES:
- UWG leads the series 9-1.
- This will be the 11th meeting between the two teams.
- In 2015, West Georgia defeated Delta State 6-1 in Cleveland. Â
- VSU leads the series 4-0-1.
- This will be the sixth meeting between the two teams.
- In the last meeting between the two teams, Valdosta State defeated Delta State 1-0 at Valdosta, Ga.

- The Lady Statesmen are currently 4-6 on the season and 0-5 in GSC play.
- Delta State's scoring offense ranks third in the Gulf South Conference.
- The Lady Statesmen lead the league and are 11th in the nation in assists per game averaging 2.40.
- Delta State is ranked second in the GSC in points per game with 7.80.
- The Lady Statesmen's 27 goals on the season rank third in the GSC and are tied for 11th nationally.
- Catherine Thomson leads the Lady Statesmen offense with five goals, 13 points and 17 shots. She ranks 12th in the GSC in points and eighth in goals scored. Thomson tied the school record for most goals scored in a game when she scored a hat trick against Alcorn State earlier this season.
- Emily Oldacre has made 35 saves this season. She ranks sixth in the GSC in saves per game.
- Rebecca Deegan holds the first place record for most penalty kicks made in a season and career after scoring the game-winning goal on a penalty kick against AUM.
- Anoucke Baas and Katie Swaine hold the second place record for most assists in a season with four apiece. Swaine and Baas rank fourth and seventh respectively in the GSC in most assists per game.
- The Lady Statesmen tied the record for most goals in a game with an 11-1 victory over Alcorn State on Sept. 13.
- Thomson leads the team in goals with five, followed by Swaine (four), Tabitha Hayden (three), Sam Naughton (three), Ali Sullivan (three), Taylor Guess (three), Deegan (two), Traci Monroe (one), Zoe Scruggs (one), Taylor Schofield (one) and Baas (one).

ABOUT WEST GEORGIA:
- West Georgia is sixth in the GSC with nine points and a 3-2 record in conference play.
- The Wolves are 7-3 overall and enter Friday's match coming off an overtime victory against in-state conference rival, Valdosta State.
- UWG is second in the GSC in shots with 164 and fourth in the league in scoring average.
- Susana Abundiz leads UWG's offense with nine goals, 19 points and 26 shots. Her nine goals lead the GSC and rank 12th in the nation.
- Katie Mitchell leads the Wolves in assists with six, which ranks 11th nationally and second in the GSC.
- Wolves' goalkeeper, Morgan Springer, has allowed only 10 goals. Her GA average of .980 is the third lowest in the league, and her 36 saves rank fifth in the league.

- Valdosta State is 11th in the GSC with an overall record of 0-8-2 and GSC record of 0-4-1.
- The Blazers will be seeking their first win of the season and in conference play.
- VSU has found the back of the net only three times to rank at the bottom of the league in goals and scoring offense.
- Kayla Robles leads the team in shots with 17 and has recorded one of VSU's only two assists on the season.
- Maggie VanHusan leads the Blazers in points with three. She has one assist and one goal.
- Alyssa Curtis has made 72 saves in goal for VSU and is first in the GSC in saves per game, averaging 7.2.        Â
