Lady Statesmen Top Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Delta State University women's swimming and diving team claimed all but three events to defeat Henderson State 212-86, on Saturday at the Duke Wells Center.

Short Story: Anastasia Klyarovskaya, Kirsten Stroven and Gaby Santis all claimed multiple individual wins for DSU.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Klyarovskaya, Stroven, Celina Batsel and Chloe Bennett swam a 1:49.93 to take home first place in the 200-Medley relay.
Santis earned her first victory of the day, as she swam a 10:35.20 to defeat teammate Abigail Isom in the 1000-Freestyle. Santis also claimed the 500-Freestyle (5:12.34) and was runner up to Chloe Bennett (52.87) with a 53.74 in the 100-Freestyle.
Klyarovskaya swam a 1:54.66 to top Bennett in the 200-Freestyle, and her 2:04.73 defeated runner up Kierstin Page in the 200-Backstroke.
Lexi Monty picked up her first career win, as she came home in 1:00.05 in the 100-Backstroke.
Stroven earned her first victory of the day in the 100-Breaststroke (1:07.98) and finished the day with a 2:28.38 to claim the 200-Breaststroke.
Page swam a 2:11.72 to earn a victory over teammate Shelby Cox in the 200-Butterfly.
DSU wrapped up the meet, as Caroline Jouisse, Klyarovskaya, Santis and Bennett swam a 1:39.59 to win the 200-Freestyle relay.

NOTABLE:

With a combined 11-dive score of 427.65, Hailey Leonard earned a victory in the 1-meter diving competition, while breaking her own school record (411.15). Leonard's score was also good enough to top the NCAA Qualifying Meet standard (390).
Casey Moore, who finished second with a 413.32 also achieved the NCAA Qualifying Meet standard.

UP NEXT: DSU is scheduled to host the its Christmas Invite. The event is set to take place from December 10-13.
