CLEVELAND, Mississippi – Several first place finishes and top performances by senior Lady Statesmen helped the Delta State University women's swimming and diving team to surge past Henderson State, 208-54, on Jan. 14, at the Delta State Aquatics Center.

Short Story: Several 1-2-3 finishes and top performances from senior swimmers, propelled the Lady Statesmen to victory over Henderson State.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The senior relay team of Anastasia Klyarovskaya, Kirsten Stroven, Kieirstin Page, and Chloe Bennett set the pace for the Lady Statesmen at the start of the meet, claiming first place in the 200-Medley Relay.
- Delta State pulled off a 1-2-3 finish in the 1000-Freestyle with Abigail Isom claiming the top time in 10:40.26. Maisey Kent (10:51.20) and Maddie Woody (10.54.62) rounded out the top three.
- The Lady Statesmen also swept the top three spots in the 200-Freestyle, with Gaby Santis, Caroline Jouisse, and Nadia Tudo Cubells finishing first, second and third respectively.
- In the 200-Butterfly, seniors Melanie Tombers and Page clinched first and second, finishing in 2:07.08 and 2:13.70, respectively.
- Kylarovskaya earned first place in both the 100 and 200-Backstroke.
- Stroven finished first in the 100-Breaststroke in 1:05.70 and first in the 200-Breaststroke with a time of 2:26.85.
- The Lady Statesmen claimed their third 1-2-3 finish of the meet as Tombers, Page, and Shelby Cox finished first (2:07.08), second (2:13.70), and third (2:21.34) in the 200-Butterfly.
- Bennett finished first in the 50-Freestyle in 24.12 and 100-Freestyle in 52.52.
- Santis and Isom claimed the top two spots in the 500-Freestyle, with times of 5:09.04 and 5:12.87.
- In the 400-Individual Medley, Tombers finished first in 4:29.10, followed by Jouisse (4:39.40) and Page (4:42.79).
- In diving action, Casey Moore set a new school record in the 1-Meter diving event with a score of 270.52 to earn first place. Cathryn Laird finished third with a score of 201.68.
- The Lady Statesmen swept the 3M diving competition as Hailey Leonard earned first place with a score of 241.65. Grace Veselits earned second (198.45), and Laird earned third (186.07).
- Delta State concluded the meet with a 1-2-3 finish in the 200-Freestyle Relay, with the relay team of Kylarovskaya, Santis, Tudo Cubells, and Bennett earning the top time of 1:37.34.
- The Lady Statesmen honored seven seniors prior to the start of the meet: Anastasia Klyarovskaya, Chloe Bennett, Gabby Core, Maisey Kent, Kierstin Page, Kirsten Stroven and Melanie Tombers.
