CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State women's swimming and diving team had a dominant showing against Rhodes College, defeating the Lynx 177 to 63. The Lady Statesmen won all but two events, while recording three 1-2-3 finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hailey Leonard started the meet off on a high note for the Lady Statesmen, leading a DSU sweep of the 1-meter diving competition and setting a school record with a score of 281.99. In addition to qualifying for NCAAs in 1-meter, Leonard also won the 3-meter event.
- In the 500-yard freestyle, junior Caroline Jouisse led from start to finish, recording a time of 5:10.62. Jouisse also won the 200 free earlier in the meet and anchored Delta State's victorious 200 medley relay.
- Following up on her impressive win in the 100-yard backstroke against Alabama during the season-opener, Lucia Martelli clocked a 55.92 in the 100 fly for her second individual event win as a Lady Statesman. Martelli went out in 25.67 for the first 50 and won by more than six seconds. The freshman also led off DSU's winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
- Junior Celina Batsel cruised to victory in the 100-yard freestyle, with a winning time of 52.99. Batsel joined Martelli on both winning relays for the Lady Statesmen.
- Other individual first-place finishers included: Sierra Rhodes (1000 free); Hannah Retherford (50 free); and Chelsea Borrowdale (100 breast).
UP NEXT: The Lady Statesmen will take nearly a month off from action before hitting the road for their first conference matchup of the season. Delta State will take on Lindenwood University, as well as William Jewell College, Saturday, October 21.
