CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to head to the Show-Me State this weekend for meets. The men will get things started with a meet against Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri on Friday, Oct. 19. Then the next day both the men and the women will take on Lindenwood and Drury in a dual meet in Saint Charles, Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 20.
This week the first CSCAA Poll came out with the Statesmen ranked at number four in the country with 123 points. The Lady Statesmen debut at number 15 with 79 points in the first poll. Every team this weekend is in the top 15 in the country for both the men and the women.
On the men's side, Missouri S&T is number 15, Lindenwood is number eight, and Drury is number three in the country. On the women's side, Lindenwood is number 11 while Drury is number two.
The men's swimming and diving team were victorious against Rhodes College for the second meet of the season. The Statesmen were led by Giulio Brugnoni with his first place finishes in the 100 yard meter butterfly and the 200 yard IM.

Rezashki claimed first for Delta State. With a time of 9:47:57 The Statesmen were led by Alex
Zolotukhin in the 50 yard freestyle, with his first place finish. With a time of 21:81 Giulio
Brugnoni won the 200 yard IM with a time of 1:58:34. Kyle
Weesner led the way for the Statesmen diving. He finished first in the 3 meter with a score of 332.93 and the 1 meter with a score of 272.10. The Statesmen placed first in every event other than the 200 yard freestyle relay.
Meanwhile, the women were victorious while hosting Rhodes College for the second meet of the year. The Lady Statesmen were led by Gillian
Pratt in diving with a first place finish in the one meter and three meter. The Lady Statesmen won the 200 yard relay with a time of 1:45:61. Caroline
Jouisse won the 1000 yard freestyle for the Lady Statesmen with a time of 10:33.43 and finished first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:10.48.Gillian
Pratt placed first in the one meter and three meter dive for the Lady Statesmen. The Lady Statesmen finished first in every event other than the 200 yard freestyle relay and the 100 yard butterfly.
Up next, the Lady Statesmen and Statesmen will head to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on Henderson State on Friday, Nov. 2.
