CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University softball team scored 22 runs over 10 innings in a pair of run rule victories over Christian Brothers in Gulf South Conference action, on Friday at University Field. The Lady Statesmen took the opener 9-1 (5) and scored 10 runs in the first inning of a 13-5 (5) win in game two.

GAME CHANGER:
- The Lady Statesmen scored four runs, on four hits, including a pair of home runs in the bottom of the second inning.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lady Statesmen outhit the visitors 11-3.
- DSU had seven extra base hits, including four doubles and three home runs.

Jordan Jones (2-for-3) led the Lady Statesmen with a double, a home run and three RBIs.
Kelly Byrd also collected two hits for DSU.

Kailyn Lofton also had home runs for the Lady Statesmen.

KEY PLAYS:
- CBU scored its lone run of the game in the top of the first inning on an RBI single, with two outs, by Olivia Parsels.
- The Lady Statesmen scored three runs in the first on Jones' RBI double, an RBI groundout by
Marissa Landrum and a double by
Abi Gibson.
- DSU tacked on three in the second on Lofton's home run, an RBI groundout by Jones and a two-run home run by Vice.
- The Lady Statesmen took advantage of an error to score a run in the third, and finished the scoring with Jones' solo home run in the fourth.

- The seven extra base hits are the second most of the season for DSU.
- Lofton's home run was the first of her career.
- Jones has driven in at least one run in five of the last seven games.
