CLEVELAND, Miss.- The Delta State University women's soccer team hits the road for two crucial Gulf South Conference matchups this weekend in the Peach State. The Lady Statesmen play at West Georgia on Friday and at Valdosta State on Sunday. Both of those teams are directly behind DSU in the GSC standings as Delta State currently sits in seventh in the standings.

INSIDE THE SERIES: Delta State trails the all time series with UWG 12-1. Last year in Cleveland, West Georgia ran away for DSU with a 6-2 victory. The lone win for the Green and White against the Wolves came back in 2007 when the Lady Statesmen won 1-0.
This is the ninth meeting all time between Valdosta State and Delta State. The Lady Statesmen have never won against the Blazers. VSU has won seven times and have tied DSU once. The lone tie came in 2013 in Cleveland. Last year Valdosta shutout the Green and White 4-0
LAST TIME OUT: The Delta State University Women's soccer team won in overtime against Union 1-0.

INSIDE THE OPPONENTS:
UWG comes into the weekend with a 4-5-1 record and are 2-3 in GSC play. They are coming off back to back losses to Valdosta State and West Alabama. The Wolves are lead by Sadie Prince who has three goals. Janaisia Smith has two goals and an assist as well. Jackie Donaldson leads the GSC I saves with 62.
VSU is 5-4 on the season and 3-2 in GSC play. This past weekend the Lady Blazers defeated UAH and UWG. They are led by Riley Tennant who has six goals and three assists this season and is fifth in points in the GSC. Ashley Lewis has added five goals and two assists as well.
