Box Score MOBILE, Ala. – A pair of second half goals by
Diana Okechukwu and
Rylee McGee lifted the Delta State University Women's Soccer team to a 2-0 victory at Spring Hill College on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Badgers Field. The win propels the Lady Statesmen (6-6-4, 6-5-1 GSC) into the Gulf South Conference Tournament for the first time in the program's history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless 1st half, the Lady Statesmen took a 1-0 lead in the 66th minute as Rylee McGee found the back of the net off an assist by Okechukwu, who's initial shot was deflected by the keeper.
- Okechukwu made it 2-0 in the 83rd minute, banging home a blocked shot by Alexis Hobbs, who got the assist on the play.
- Amanda Hilliard played all 90 minutes in goal, collecting her 7th shutout of the year.
STAT OF THE GAME
- Delta State took 27 shots with 16 on goal versus the Badgers.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Hilliard recorded his 7th shutout of the year in goal for the Lady Statesmen. The Baton Rouge, La., native is one shutout away from tying the school record of eight set by Sarah Prevost in 2008.
- Okechukwu's goal was her 3rd of the season while McGee's was her 1st.
UP NEXT
- Delta State will travel to Clinton, Miss., on Tuesday, Nov. 12 to play Gulf South Conference Regular Season Champion and No. 1 seed Mississippi College in the opening round of the GSC Tournament. Game time is to be determined.
