JACKSON, Miss. - The Delta State University women's tennis team fell 2-4 to Jackson State University on Wednesday, March. 13 in Jackson. The Lady Statesmen move to 2-8 and 1-1 on the season.

Fabiola Cardenas and Nathalia Sato claimed DSU's lone doubles win at No.1 doubles with a 6-1 victory over Lucia Placidi and Narua Nartunez.

Sato opened singles play with a 6-3,6-1 victory at No.2 over Jones. Deroode followed suit at No.4 with a 7-6,6-0 win over Placidi. 

The Lady Statesmen return to action on Saturday, March 16, as Delta State travels to Livingston, AL. As they take on the University of West Alabama in Gulf South Conference action. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
