MONTEVALLO, ALA. - The Delta State University women's tennis team fell 3-4 to Montevallo on Friday, April. 26 in Montevallo, Ala. The Lady Statesmen move to 6-16 and 3-8 on the season.

Cardenas opened singles play with a 7-5,6-3 victory at No.1 over Beatty. Sato claimed DSU's second singles victory at No.2 with a 6-2,6-2 victory over Leu. Owen claimed DSU's No. 6 singles with a 6-3,6-2 win over Pero.

The Lady Statesmen return to action on Thursday, May 2, as Delta State travels to Montgomery, ALA. As they take on the No. 1 seed University of West Alabama. Lady Statesmen enter into the Gulf South Tournament as the No.8 seed.  Match time is set for 9:00 a.m.
