Kelly Earns 1000 Freestyle Win as Delta State Falls to Tulane

RESULTS

CLEVELAND, Miss. -- 
Isabella Kelly won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:49.68 and the Delta State University swimming and diving team had a respectable showing on Saturday, Oct. 17 against NCAA Division I foe Tulane University.

INSIDE THE LANE LINES
  • The Lady Statesmen opened the meet with a third place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:51.11.
  • Isabella Kelly notched the first win of the day with a victory in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:49:68.
  • Celeste Turner came in fourth in the 200 free, finishing in 1:58.66
  • In the 50 free, Erin Franklin had the second best time, clocking a 26.00.
  • Madison Lavoie brought home a second place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:10.66.
  • Turner had the top time in the 100 butterfly, completing the race in 59.41 to finish in fourth place.
  • Victoria Brady finished the 100 free in fifth with a time of 57.23.

ON THE BOARDS
  • Gillian Pratt led the way for the Lady Statesmen with a fourth place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 237.29.
  • Freshman Jillian Prigmore came in sixth on the one-meter board with a score of 123.30.
  • On the three-meter board, Pratt came in fifth with a score of 211.42.
  • Tulane's Caroline Alonzo won the one-meter competition with a score of 254.46, and Katie Lipsey captured the three-meter dive with a score of 248.02.
NOTABLES
  • Isabella Kelly's win in the 1000 free marked her second individual career win. Her first win came in the 1000 free against Henderson State last year.
