CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University men's tennis team got a 6-2, 6-2 clincher from Côme Bracaval and the Statesmen upset No. 16 West Alabama 4-3 on Thursday afternoon at the Cleveland Country Club.
The Statesmen fell in the doubles point before taking four singles matches to secure their second win over a ranked opponent this season. The other was against Southern Arkansas back on Feb. 1 in the Ouachita Baptist Invitational.

- Terrier (DSU) beat Vescnen (UWA) 6-2, 7-5.
- Elizarraraz (DSU) was beaten by Bulun (UWA) 6-7, 4-6.
- Stroppiana (DSU) downed Dehodink (UWA) 6-3, 6-2.
- Seymour (DSU) battled on court three and fell in three sets to Correl (UWA) 6-3, 1-6, and 3-6.
- De Sousa (DSU) made quick work of Jokinen (UWA) 6-1, 6-1.
- With the overall match tied 3-3, Bracaval (DSU) secured the win over Johonsen (UWA) 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the upset victory over the No. 16 Tigers.
