CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University baseball team (13-10) rallied back from an early 3-1 deficit to take a 10-5 win over the University of Arkansas-Monticello (8-13) on Wednesday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field.
Darek Sargent,
Chad Ragland, and
Hayden White combined to drive in six runs to aide the Statesmen come-from-behind victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ragland doubled and scored on a Hayden White double to stake the Statesmen to a 1-0 lead in the first.
- The score remained 1-0 until the third when UAM scored three runs. Cade Thompson drove in a run with a single through the right side while Austin Powell scored on a Hudson Hopkins grounded out. Thompson later scored on a wild pitch to give the Weevils a 3-1 lead.
- The Statesmen tied the game in the bottom of the fourth when Ragland singled home Jared Cramer and Sargent to knot the game, 3-3.
- UAM regained a 4-3 lead in the fifth on a Hopkins home run to left field.
- The Green-and-White used a four-run sixth inning to take a 7-4 lead. Hayden White walked with the bases loaded to score Ragland, while Sargent scored on another bases-loaded walk to White. Jake Barlow delivered an RBI single to score Granger and Jared Cramer was hit by a pitch and later scored on a throwing error.
- Audy Clary walked and advancing to second on a passed ball, then came home on a Powell single to right field to cut the DSU lead to 7-5.
- Delta State added a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to build the advantage to 10-5, punctuated a Sargent two-run home run to left field to plate Cramer in the eighth.
- Tanner Propst sat the Boll Weevils down in order in the ninth to close win for the Statesmen.
ON THE MOUND
- Hunter Riggins worked a scoreless inning and did not allow a hit with a strikeout to earn the win for the Statesmen.
- Matthew Harrison gave up four runs, one earned, on no hits with two walks and two strikeouts as the pitcher of record for the Boll Weevils.
- Mathew Sneed tossed two scoreless innings with three strikeouts before leaving the game with two outs in his first career start.
- Charlie Darnall gave up one run on one hit with a strikeout and two walks over 2.0 innings of relief.
- Propst worked a scoreless ninth with a strikeout to close the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Ragland went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and White finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI as well.
- Sargent belted his team-best third home run of the season and was 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.
- Barlow went 2-for-5 with an RBI.
- Hopkins led UAM with a home run and two RBI.
- Statesmen pitching has recorded 10 or more strikeouts in game seven times after registering 10 against UAM.
