CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Eighth ranked Lee University (14-2, 13-1 GSC) scored two runs in the bottom of the tenth inning to earn a 10-9 win over the Delta State University baseball team (6-10, 5-10 GSC) on Sunday at Olympic Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delta State used a three-run first to take an early 3-0 lead. Kirkland Trahan belted a home run to right field with Hayden White on base after a walk. Jake Barlow doubled and came home when Blake Wolferding reached on an error.
- The Statesmen had the bases loaded two outs in the first before Lee reliever Alan Rickman recorded a strikeout to end the inning.
- Lee tied the game 3-3 in the third. Joshua Perez and Thomas Zazarro had RBI doubles and Justin Freeman singled in a run.
- Kade Dees smashed home run to right to put the Statemen in front 4-3 in the fourth.
- The Flames erupted for five runs to take an 8-4 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Colton Yeager worked a bases loaded walk and Landon Silver hit a grand slam home run.
- Four runs came home for the Statesmen in the seventh. White doubled and scored on a Trahan double. Trahan moved to third on a Josh Smeltzer single and came home on a Peyton Faulkner single to left. Smeltzer and Faulkner came around to tie the game on a Wolferding double to center field.
- Delta State took a 9-8 lead in the 10th inning. Smeltzer, who was placed at second for the extra inning tiebreaker rule, scored on a Wolferding sac-fly.
- Lee rallied for two runs two runs in the bottom of the 10th. Standifer started the inning at second, Colton Yeager reached on an error and Riley Black was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Joshua Perez singled to scenter field to plate Black and Standifer to walk off with the win.
ON THE MOUND
- TJ Childree (0-2) gave up two unearned runs in one-third of an inning to take the loss for the Statesmen.
- Andy Rivera (2-0) worked three innings with four strikeouts and one run allowed as the pitcher of record for Lee.
- Matthew Sneed yielded one hit with one walk and one strikeout in four shutout innings of work out of the bullpen.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Trahan went 2-for-5 with a double, one home run and three RBI for the Statesmen.
- Wolferding was 2-for-4 with three RBI, including the go ahead RBI in the 10th for DSU.
- Perez finished the day 2-for-3 with three RBI, including the walk off two-run single for Lee.
- Silver drove in four runs for Lee.

Delta State returns for a four-game stretch beginning against Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday at 5 p.m. before hosting Union University for a three-game series next weekend.
