CLINTON, Miss. -- The Delta State University men's soccer team's spring season came to a close in the quarterfinals of the Gulf South Conference Spring Championships on Sunday afternoon against Mississippi College.
The shorthanded Statesmen fell 6-0 to the Choctaws. MC scored two goals in the first half and then added four in the second half to end the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MC had the first shot of the game in the second minute, which hit the crossbar.
- Mattis Kloepper had his first save in the sixth minute.
- Jakob Thorup-Petersen took DSU's first shot that was saved in the ninth minute by MC.
- Aurele Chemin scored the opening goal for MC in the 21st minute off of a corner kick.
- After a couple of shots from Eldi Seiti and Kieran Robins for DSU, MC got their second goal in the 39th minute from Pedro Cortes.
- Guilherme Santos scored the third goal for the Choctaws in the 55th minute.
- The fourth goal for MC came in the 79th minute on a strike by Zach Diallo.
- In the 87th minute, MC scored their fifth goal from Aiden Lipovetsky.
- A minute later, Aurele scored his second goal of the match to give MC six on the day.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- MC out shot DSU 18-5.
- The Choctaws had ten shots on target and the Statesmen had two.
