BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University first baseman Hayden White is the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week as released by the league office on Wednesday, April 20, 2021.

The Madison, Miss., product hit .667 going 12-for-18 at the plate while helping the Statesmen to a 4-0 week. White had two doubles, three home runs and drove in seven runs, and scored 10 runs. The junior had a 1.278 slugging percentage, a 727 on base percentage, and had a 1.000 fielding percentage in 29 chances.

White is second on the team with a .367 batting average, 11 doubles, eight home runs, and 37 RBI in 32 games. His 50 hits rank third in the GSC while also ranking fifth in home runs (8), fourth in RBI (37), and seventh in slugging percentage (.616).

After Tuesday's contest at Arkansas-Monticello, the Statesmen host the University of Alabama in Huntsville for their final regular-season home series. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game are slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
