MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo (4-0-1) tallied a goal in each half to defeat the Delta State University men's soccer team (2-2-1) 2-0 on Friday night at Varsity Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Julio Rojo scored an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute to give the Falcons a 1-0 halftime lead.
- Edorta Cabieces Sanz put the Falcons up 2-0 lead in the 77th minute to close the scoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Remi Emeriau had two shots, both on goal, Pablo Lopez-Melus and Carl Swennberg each had two shots with one on goal to lead the Statesmen.
- Darren Mota, Pablo Herrera, and Mathis Hardy recorded one shot on goal apiece for DSU.
- The Statesmen had their chances in the opening half, outshooting the Falcons 7-3 with five shots on goal.
- Montevallo outshot the Statesmen 11-4 in the second half and 14-11 overall with only three shots on goal.
- Statesmen goalkeeper Mattis Kloepper recorded three saves in goal while UM keeper Salvador Plaza turned away six shots.
