CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Statesmen swim team defeated the Henderson State University on Saturday in a battle of teams in the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference. The Lady Statesmen won all but three races in the victory. Five different Delta State swimmers won an event.

INSIDE THE ROPES
- The 200 yard medley relay team of Madelyn Byrd, Alexis Moon, Celeste Turner, and Danielle Solkow won with a time of 1:49.02
- Peyton Osborn won the 1000 yard free with a time of 10:53.39
- Byrd won the 100 yard backstroke finishing in 58.91.
- Madison Lavoie was first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.10.
- Turner won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.79.
- Byrd won her second race of the day with a win in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.14
- Lavoie won her second race of the day in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:30.53.
- Jamie Glover won the second distance race of the day with a time of 5:25.57 in the 500 free.
- Byrd won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.13.
- The final race of the day was the 400 yard freestyle relay and the team of Martina Rossetti, Tristan Fant, Solkow, and Turner won it with a time of 3:41.64
