CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State University Women's Soccer (8-5-1 overall, 5-3-1 GSC) traded goals with Mississippi College (9-2-1, 6-1-1) in each half, but the tying goal for the Lady Choctaws came with less than 9 minutes left in the game after the Lady Statesmen had the momentum for the prior 18 minutes.

Madison Lafontaine opened up the scoring at 7:31 with a corner kick that caromed off a Lady Choctaw defender into the net. Mississippi College captain Beatrice Currie tied the game on a long goal assisted by Mary Ella White at the 21:40 mark. The Lady Statesmen grabbed all the momentum on a go-ahead goal from
Rylee McGee at 66:38, but MC's Olivia Gelpi would even the game at two with just over five minutes left in regulation.
The game was just as close on the score sheet as it was on the field, with Delta State only holding a 13-12 advantage in total shots and shots-on-goal tied at 8. Delta State goal keeper
