HOW IT HAPPENED
- Blake Ebo hit a lead-off home run to give the Sailfish a 1-0 lead after one.Â
- A Carson Clowers sacrifice fly drove in Blayke Dendy to tie the game in the top of the second, but a Dylan Tosto sacrifice fly put the Sailfish right back in front 2-1.Â
- Jake Barlow tied the game in the top of the third, as his fly ball to centerfield plated Hayden White.
- Delta State doubled its lead with four runs in the sixth, as Cooper belted his first career home run for the Green and White.
- The Statesmen went back-to-back, as Cooper's three-run homer was immediately followed by a Dendy solo homer to right to extend DSU's lead to 6-3.
- Cooper added to his career day with a bases loaded RBI single in the 7th to make it 7-3 Delta State.
- Sailfish outfielder Jake Roper clubbed an opposite field home run in the last of the 8th to trim the lead to 7-5.
