RESULTS
CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University Statesmen swimming and diving team won every individual event on Friday night to extend their lead heading into tomorrow's final day of competition at the NSISC Championships.
Two freshman won titles, with
Jakob Brougham winning the 500-yard freestyle and
Berk Ozkul winning the 100-yard backstroke.
Jawone Blankenship also won the three-meter dive to sweep the diving events.

INSIDE THE LANE LINES
- Jakob Brougham won his second long distance race of the meet taking first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:31.56.
- Freshman Berk Ozkul won his first title in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 48.81. Tucker Schroer and Emanuel Fava swept the podium for DSU coming in second and third, respectively, with times of 49.65 and 49.93.
- AJ Williams took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.10. Savio Ragonesi came in third with a time of 56.24.
- Federico Bracco defended his title in the 200-yard butterfly. His time of 1:46.13 was just a second off the NSISC record.
- Carson Traylor came in second in the 200 yard butterfly with a personal best time of 1:47.72. That time was quick enough to have an automatic bid in the last two NCAA championships.
- The 800-yard free relay team of Alex Miller, Brougham, Traylor, and Ragonesi finished in second with a time of 6:50.36.
ON THE BOARDS:
- Jawone Blankenship won the three-meter dive with a score of 534.35, just missing the meet record by ten points.
- Sam Jones earned his first podium appearance with a third place finish in the three-meter dive. He scored a 353.60.
