Lady Statesmen Soccer Victorious at Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. – Lady Statesmen soccer picked up a 3-0 nonconference win against Millsaps in Jackson, MS on Tuesday. Delta State led 1-0 at the half on a goal from Maya Jackson at the 17:15 mark. The Lady Statesmen added two more goals in the second half from Poppy Derhun at 66:37 and Ella McQueen at 69:41.

The Delta State defense not only blanked the Majors on the scoreboard, but on the shot chart as well. Millsaps did not record a shot-on-goal and only three shots total for the game. The Lady Statesmen peppered the Millsaps goalkeeper for 33 total shots, 12 on goal.

Delta State improves to 4-3, (1-1 GSC) on the season while Millsaps drops to 1-2-1 (0-0 SAA).
