CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Lady Statesmen of Delta State University suffered a 1-0 loss to the Lynn University Fighting Knights at Delta Field on Sunday afternoon. Lynn scored quickly on a goal by Kayla Bradby just 9 minutes and 22 seconds into the contest and hung on for the remainder of the contest for the win.
The game was a valiant uphill fight for the Lady Statesmen after suffering a denial of goal red card 15 minutes into the contest and playing the remainder of the day a player short.
Lynn controlled the offensive rhythm with a 24-12 shots advantage and a 5-1 corner kick edge.
Bailey Daugherty had another outstanding day in goal for Delta State with 10 saves. Both teams even their records at (2-2).
