Cleveland, Miss.-- The Delta State University Men's Soccer hosted the Hawks of Shorter University this Sunday for a GSC matchup. The Statesmen also celebrated Senior Day by honoring Ricky Thakur, Eldi Seiti, Arturo Riestra, and Colton Mueller. Senior Arturo Riestra would set the tone for the Statesmen scoring in the 15th of the match. DSU's attack had its chances early in the match but Shorter made a few adjustments to slow the Green and White down. The Statesmen would go into the half with a 1-0 lead. The second would be a back-and-forth contest with James Lynch scoring early in the second half. The Hawks would then score two goals of their own to tie the game at 2. Lynch made his presence felt again by scoring his second goal of the day in the 83rd minute. Ryan Thistle made sure to send the seniors off victorious by adding another goal in the 88th minute.
