Cleveland, Miss. -- The Delta State University Women's Soccer hosted the Hawks of Shorter University this Sunday for a GSC matchup. The Lady Statesmen also celebrated Senior Day by honoring Carra Hymel, Hannah James, Mathilde Skovbakke, Sasha Clare, and Poppy Derhun. DSU would score in the 20th minute off a penalty kick by Derhun. Millie Congerton scored in the 43rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into half. In the second half The Lady Statesmen would apply constant pressure to the Hawks defensive line. Congerton and Derhun would both score again. The Green and White would see Chloe Jackson score the final goal of the day making it 5-0 and sending the seniors off with a final home win.
