ALBERTVILLE, Ala. -- The Delta State University softball team returned to action in the Charger Chillout against the Badgers of Spring Hill College. The Lady Statesmen scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but the Badgers answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning.
The Green and White took control of the game in the third inning with a 12-run performance. The Lady Statesmen also scored five runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth inning. The Lady Statesmen defeated the Badgers 24-9. The second game of the day was canceled due to weather.
