ALBERTVILLE, Ala. -- The Delta State University softball team returned to action in the Charger Chillout against the Saints of Maryville and Lincoln Memorial. The Lady Statesmen scored one run in the top of the first inning, but the Saints answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning.
The Green and White took control of the game in the second inning with an 8-run performance. The Lady Statesmen also scored three runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth inning as they defeated the Saints 13-3. The second game of the day was the Lady Statesmen matching up with Lincoln Memorial. LMU would score four runs in the top of the second inning. They also added runs five runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.
