HOW IT HAPPENED
- Taylor Macera started the scoring with a three-run homer in the top of the first
- VSU hit two more home runs in the second inning to extend the lead to 7-0
- Saylor McNearney hit a home run in the third to push the lead to 9-0
- A two-RBI double, a three-run home run, and a solo home run in the fifth for VSU secured the win for the Blazers
IN THE CIRCLE
- Lacey Coats (3-5) started for the Lady Statesmen and lasted 1.1 innings. She allowed seven runs on five hits while also giving up a walk.
- Madison Jenkins made two appearances in the circle, pitching a combined 3.1 innings. She gave up two runs on two hits with two strikeouts to four walks.
- Carlie Vannucci allowed five runs on three hits with a walk.
- Hannah Hasle allowed a run on two hits and recorded a strikeout.
