CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State fought back from a late deficit to tie Alabama Huntsville in game one on Saturday afternoon, but ultimately fell in extra innings. Delta State fell behind early in game two after a three-run first inning by the Chargers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The only hit for either team in the first two innings was a solo home run for the Chargers in the first inning. 1-0 UAH after 2.
- The Chargers fell in order in the third as the Statesmen picked up their first two hits from Matthew Nichols and Jonathan Dewberry. UAH stranded a runner in the fourth as the Statesmen left the bases loaded. Taylor Woodcock picked up a hit in the fourth as well. The Chargers picked up three hits in the fifth, but also stranded the bases loaded. Dewberry hit a one-out single and moved to third after a hit by Brendan McCauley. Dewberry scored after Kirkland Trahan reached on a fielder's choice. Tied 1-1 after 5.
- UAH fell in order in the sixth as Eric Newsom gave the lead to the Statesmen with an opposite-field solo homer. Harrison Haley shut the door on the Chargers the rest of the way, earning a complete-game shutout. 2-1 Delta State Final.
ON THE MOUND
- Starter Harrison Haley (W, 2-3) pitched all 9.0 innings on Sunday. He allowed just one run on seven hits with six strikeouts to only one walk.
