CLEVELAND, MISS. – The Delta State University women's soccer program (2-3-4, 1-2-3 GSC) will come back to Delta Field this Friday (Oct. 18) and Sunday (Oct.20) as they welcome the Chargers from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the Tigers from the University of West Alabama.
The Lady Statesmen will have their matches kick off at approximately 1:00 p.m. (CDT) from Delta Field.

- Delta State enters the weekend with a 2-3-4 overall record and a 1-2-3 record in the Gulf South Conference. The Lady Statesmen fell to the top team in the conference in the University of Montevallo last Saturday by a 1-0 decision.
- Junior defender Ava Webster leads Delta State with three goals on the season along with a team high six points. Two of Webster's three goals came off of an assist by fellow junior defender Casey Stalder. Stalder is tied for sixth in the GSC with three assists on the season.
- The Goalkeeper duo in Olivia Griffin and Bailey Daugherty have been exchanging appearances in the goal for the Lady Statesmen on the season. Daugherty holds a 2-0-2 record. Both keepers each have one shutout on the season.
Scouting the Chargers
- UAH enters the weekend with a 5-5-1 overall record and a 4-2-1 GSC conference record. The Chargers fell to Union last Sunday by a 1-0 decision. That loss ended a three-game winning streak to start the month of October.
- Junior forward Jayla Gillespie leads the Charger attack with four goals and two assists on the season. One of Orzechowski's four goals came in the 2-0 win against Christian Brothers last Friday.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Cece Szopa has played all 990:00 for the Chargers collecting the 5-5-1 overall record. Szopa has faced 101 shots with 38 saves and three shutouts.
Scouting the Tigers
- The Tigers enter this weekend's road trip with a 2-5-3 record and a 1-3-3 GSC mark. The Tigers got their first conference win of the 2024 campaign as they defeated Christian Brothers 2-0 last Sunday in Livingston.
- Junior forward Aileen Charles currently leads the Tigers with three goals on the season. Charles scored a goal for the Tigers in their 2-0 win against Christian Brothers last Sunday.
- In the goal, the Tigers have relied on Dior Wilson, who has played all 900:00 minutes this season totaling with a 2-5-3 record. Wilson has been busy facing 32 shots in the past weekend. Wilson has given up 13 goals and has 58 saves on the season.
