NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Delta State University men's soccer program (3-4-7, 2-3-4 GSC) got an early goal from junior defender
Santiago Rossi in their 1-1 tie against Trevecca Nazarene University Sunday afternoon at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
The Statesmen and Trojans would play scoreless ball for the first 75 minutes before Rossi 's volley from a Long free kick from
Veborn Oen that was deflected from the head of
Chad Hudson gave the Statesmen a 1-0 lead.
The Trojans equalized the game four minutes later as a long pass would get behind the Statesmen defense as Chris Douglas would strike one pass the keeper to even the game up at 1-1.
The Statesmen outshot the Trojans 20-11 including nine shots on goal.
The Statesmen will look to finish the regular season on a high note at Delta Field next weekend starting with a match Friday against the Warhawks from Auburn University-Montgomery.
