Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The Delta State University Lady Statesmen soccer team wrapped up its season in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament, falling to No. 3 seed Union University 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Statesmen faced an early 1-0 deficit, as Union scored in the 10
th minute on a high right shot that made it past
Olivia Griffin.
Delta State had opportunities in the first half, but Union outshot DSU 11-8 and 6-3 in shots on goal. Griffin recorded 5 saves in the first 45 minutes of play.
In the 77
th minute, the Lady Bulldogs extended their lead to 2-0, a score that stood for the final.
The Lady Statesmen narrowed the gap in shots in the second half but were still outshot 22-20.

Delta State concludes its 2024 season with 5-4-6 overall record and 4-3-5 in conference play.
