RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Statesmen Baseball wrapped up their midweek series with Arkansas Tech Wednesday afternoon. The Statesmen picked up seven hits, but left eleven runners on base.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Each team stranded a runner in the first and fell in order in the second. Taylor Hickman picked up the first DSU bit in the third inning as both teams stranded a runner. Scoreless after three.
- Braiden Jones picked up a two-out double in the top of the fourth. ATU scored three runs on two hits in the bottom half. 3-0 Arkansas Tech after four.
- DSU left a runner on base after Jonathan Dewberry drew a walk in the fifth. The Wonder Boys fell in order in the fifth. Blayke Dendy hit a double to right center with two outs in the sixth. ATU scored four runs in the sixth on four hits and stranded the bases loaded. 7-0 Arkansas Tech after six.
- Delta State stranded two in the seventh after a walk to Matthew Martinolich and an HBP to Hickman. ATU fell in order. Brett Burrell led the eighth for the Statesmen and was hit by a pitch. He moved to third on a Dylan Coleman double, and the pair scored on a 2 RBI double by Dendy. ATU added two runs on two hits in the bottom half of the eighth. 9-2 Arkansas Tech after eight.
- Wes Warnock doubled with one out in the ninth, followed by a walk to Drew Capobianco and a Burrell single to load the bases. Everyone advanced a base and Warnock scored on a wild pitch. 9-3 Arkansas Tech final.
