CLEVELAND, Miss. – The fall competition schedules have been announced for the four fall sports teams. The 2024 fall season will mark the 20^th anniversary for the Delta State men's and women's soccer programs.

Football
2024 Schedule
 
The 2024 campaign for the Statesmen football team features five home games and six road trips starting with four non-conference opponents two of which the Statesmen will face for the first time in program history. On Thursday August 29^th, at 6:00 p.m. (CST) the Statesmen will kick off their season as they travel to Mars Hill to face the Lions of Mars Hill University for the first time ever. On the following week, the Statesmen will return home for the 2024 Pig Pickin' Game on Saturday September 7, as they host the Miners of Missouri S&T. On September 14^th at 2:00 p.m. (CST), Delta State will travel back to North Carolina to face the Bulldogs of Wingate University for the first ever matchup in the history of both programs. The Statesmen will finish off their non-conference slate as the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University will come to McCool Stadium for a 6:00 p.m., kickoff on September 21^st.
 
The Statesmen start their 2024 Gulf South Conference schedule as they go on the first of two road trips to South Carolina to face GSC newcomer Erskine on September 28^th. That game will be played at J.W. Babb Stadium on the campus of Greenwood High School. The Statesmen will have three home conference games in the 2024 campaign starting with their GSC home opener on Saturday October 5^th as the Hawks of Chowan come to town. The Statesmen will host West Alabama on October 19^th. This year's Homecoming contest will be on Saturday November 9^th as the Statesmen will host their final home game of the regular season against the Blazers of Valdosta State University. The final contest of the 2024 regular season will be the battle for the Heritage Bell as Delta State travels to Clinton to take on Mississippi College.
 
 
 
 
Women's Soccer

First year head coach Chloe Kane and the Lady Statesmen open their 2024 season at home on Thursday September 5^th as they host the Lakers of Clayton State University at Delta Field. Three days later, the Lady Statesmen head to Rolla, Mo., to take on the Miners of Missouri S&T. The Lady Statesmen finish their non-conference slate with a road game and a neutral site contest against Belhaven on Sept. 11, followed by a neutral site match at Mississippi College with the Dustdevils of Texas A&M International two days later. The Lady Statesmen will start GSC play with a three-game road stretch to Spring Hill, West Florida, and Christian Brothers. Delta State's first home conference contest will be against Union on Sunday Sept. 29. This season, the Lady Statesmen will host Mississippi College, Alabama-Huntsville, West Alabama, Auburn Montgomery, and the final game of their regular season against Valdosta State.
 
Men's Soccer

The Delta State University men's soccer program opens their 2024 season as they host the Hilltoppers of St. Edward's University on Thursday September 5^th at Delta Field. Two days later, the Dustdevils of Texas A&M International come to Cleveland on Pig Pickin' day for a 10:00 a.m, kickoff with the Statesmen. On the following week, the Statesmen head to Memphis as they face St. Leo and Florida Southern in two neutral site matches at Christian Brothers University. The Statesmen's final non-conference contest will be in the midst of GSC play as they head to Searcy, Ark., to face the Bison of Harding University on Sunday Oct. 6. Like the Lady Statesmen, the men's team will start GSC play with a three-game road stretch to Spring Hill, West Florida, and Christian Brothers. Delta State's first home conference contest will be against Union on Sunday Sept. 29. This season, the Statesmen will host Mississippi College, Alabama-Huntsville, West Alabama, Auburn Montgomery, and the final game of their regular season against Montevallo.
 
 
 
Women's Cross Country
2024 Schedule
 
The Delta State University women's cross-country team has a seven-meet schedule for the 2024 regular season with four in-state opponents. The Lady Statesmen start their season on the road Friday Sept. 6 with the first of three trips to Clinton for the Mississippi College opener. The following week, the Lady Statesmen head to Huntsville, Ala., to face off against Jacksonville State. Saturday Sept. 21, the Lady Statesmen travel to Memphis for the Rhodes College Invitational. The following week, Delta State travels to Blue Mountain, Miss., for the Topper Trails College Classic hosted by Blue Mountain College. Two of the final three meets are held in Clinton as the Lady Statesmen face Belhaven on Saturday Oct. 5 at Mississippi College. The following week the Lady Statesmen will head to Huntsville, Ala., for the UAH Chargers Invitational. On Friday October 18^th, the Lady Statesmen will end the regular season at Mississippi College in the Watson Invitational. This season's Gulf South Conference Championship will be on Saturday October 26^th at Valdosta State University.
