BATON ROUGE, La.- The Delta State University Men's Swimming and Diving Team faced off against the Tigers from Louisiana State University and the Bearcats from the University of Cincinnati Saturday in the LSU Natatorium

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Jake Runyon,
Mateus Franco,
Ethan Baylin, and
Michael Robinson finished the meet on a high note for Delta State as they topped the relay teams from LSU and Cincinnati with a time of 3:07.06

Franco had a good day in the pool in the distance races for DSU as he finished fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:47.13. Franco also finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:44.22.

On the diving boards, sophomore
Braden Moore, and freshman
Jacob Bigler, scored season highs in the three-meter dive. Moore scored 259.95 while Bigler scored 256.73.

Kacper Mochnal battled in the 200-yard butterfly finishing third with a time of 1:52.47.

In the sprints,
Ethan Baylin finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle finishing in 21.17 seconds.

The Statesmen are back in the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center next weekend for a two-day meet with the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University. The Statesmen will honor their senior class next weekend in the meet. Â
