CLEVELAND, Miss – The Delta State University Women's Swimming and Diving team had a first-place finisher in every A final in the Statesmen Shootout defeating Ouachita Baptist University 400-253 Friday afternoon in the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center.
Freshman
Zinna Nimander had three first place finishes as she won the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and was the third leg in the winning 200-yard Medley Relay team.
Jessica Gannon started the evening with a 10:16.72 time in the 1000-yard freestyle.
Following the 1000-yard freestyle,
Hannah Murray and
Pia Delkeskamp took first and second in the 200-yard individual medley. Murray took first by two hundredths of a second with a 2:05.08 time.
In the 50-yard freestyle Nimander and
Ave Owens were neck and neck with Nimander posting the winning time of 23.08 seconds.
The 200-yard freestyle would see
Janne Bodemer in front of the pack finishing in under two minutes at 1:59.81.
On the Diving Boards, Seniors
Reagan Fulton, and
Meredith Rice would finish in the top two spots with Fulton posting a score of 416.48. Rice scored 345.98 points.
Nimander would take her second individual first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a 55.99 second sprint.
Delkeskamp and
Hannah Jones would take the top two spots in the 100-yard breaststroke as Delkeskamp's time of 1:03.97 put her ahead of her competition.
Murray would win her second individual race in the 200-yard freestyle by winning by a second with a finals time of 1:52.83.
Ending the evening was the 200-yard Medley Relay where the Lady Statesmen breezed by the Tigers with a time of 1:41.80.
The Lady Statesmen will celebrate their senior day tomorrow before the 4:00 p.m. session in the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center.
