CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Baseball Team (1-3, 0-0 GSC) will be at Harvey Stadium at Ferriss Field this weekend for a three-game series with the Badgers from Spring Hill College (1-3, 0-0 SIAC).

Michael Gross will be on the call for Friday's game, as first pitch will be at 5:00 p.m., (CDT). Saturday will feature a double header starting at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) and approximately at 4:00 p.m. (CDT).
Scouting the Statesmen
- Delta State enters this weekend's home opener with a 1-3 overall record from their trip to South Florida last weekend. The Statesmen hold a 53-9 record in home openers at Ferriss Field dating back to 1964.
- The Statesmen offense last weekend was led by senior third baseman Dylan Coleman and center fielder Wes Warnock. Coleman has the highest batting average in the Statesmen lineup with a .368 batting average and has driven in three runs last weekend. Warnock has been a key spot in the top of the order for the green and white. The Vicksburg native is holding a .353 batting average with two RBIs and an on-base percentage of .421.
- On the mound, Delta State got solid outings from senior Drake Fontenot, and Dylan Farley. The two combined 10.2 innings pitched with a .75 ERA and 11 strikeouts in their starting roles. Senior reliever Josh Hill added on to his career saves mark with his 12th career save against Palm Beach Atlantic Friday.
Scouting the Badgers
- Spring Hill enters this three-game series with a 1-3 overall record. The Badgers dropped two of three contests against Florida Tech last weekend and fell to fellow GSC member in Montevallo 7-3 on Tuesday afternoon in Mobile.
- Redshirt Senior infielder Seth Williams has started the season strong for the Purple and White. Williams holds a .429 batting average with a home run and five runs driven in. Against Montevallo, Williams went 3-4 with three RBIs on Tuesday night.
- On the mound, the Badgers threw Redshirt senior Arion Butts last Friday against the Panthers. Butts went five innings striking out three batters and didn't allow a walk.
