SEARCY, Ark. – The Delta State University Women's Tennis Team (0-7, 0-1 GSC) fell in a tight 5-2 loss to the Lady Bisons from Harding University (5-7, 0-0 GAC) Friday afternoon in the David Elliott Tennis Complex in Searcy.
 
The Lady Statesmen got points in singles action as 
Yasmina Mayer dominated no. 3 singles action defeating Itza Rogel (6-0, 6-4).
 
Freshman 
Lara Torres would get her first win in no. 4 singles action as she would win in three sets against Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz (6-0, 3-6, 2-1).
 
In doubles action, Delta State came close to a point as two of the three matches would go to Harding in tiebreaking fashion.
 
The Lady Statesmen will hit the road this upcoming Wednesday, as they will travel to Livingston, Ala., to take on the Tigers from the University of West Alabama. Wednesday's match is set to start at 2:00 p.m. (CDT).
