CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University Baseball Team (27-11, 19-5 GSC) are set for a three-game series with the Trojans from Trevecca Nazarene University (15-21, 11-13 GSC) Tomorrow and Saturday in Harvey Stadium at Ferriss Field.
The Statesmen and the Trojans will kick off the series with a single game at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) Friday afternoon. The Statesmen will honor the 2025 hall of fame class before a double header to finish the series Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. (CDT).

Scouting the Statesmen
- Delta State enters this weekend ranked no. 12 in the National Baseball Writers' Association poll with a 27-11 overall record and a 19-5 record in GSC Play. Last weekend the Statesmen clinched a spot in the GSC Championship.
- Senior right-hander Drake Fontenot has been named the GSC Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season. Fontenot leads the GSC with a 1.27 ERA, 70.2 innings pitched, 67 strikeouts, with an 8-0 record this season.
- At the plate, Cleveland native Brett Burrell has been having a tremendous season for the green and white. Burrell holds a .409 batting average with 11 doubles, eight home runs and 43 runs driven in. Last Weekend Brendan McCauley had a career day against Montevallo. The Gulfport native went 5-5 in game two of the three-game series with his second home run of the season and three runs driven in.
Scouting the Trojans
- Trevecca Nazarene enters this weekend with a 15-22 overall record and a 11-13 record in their inaugural season competing in the Gulf South Conference. Yesterday afternoon, the Trojans fell in a non-conference midweek against the Miners from Missouri S&T 18-7 in Marion, Illinois.
- At the Plate, the Trojans are led by senior infielder Cole McCaullum. The Medina, Tennessee native is hitting .381 with 12 doubles, 28 rbis and a slugging percentage of .611. McCaullum did not see any action in the mid-week contest against Missouri S&T.
- The Statesmen will likely see senior right-hander Nick Judd on the mound in game one this weekend. The Kentucky Wesleyan transfer has two-straight starts where he has thrown seven innings or more with eight or more strikeouts. Judd holds a 3-3 overall record with a 3.89 ERA and 39 strikeouts on the season.
